Account
How do I delete my account?
In the app: in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is a real deletion, not a hidden or deactivated account: your authentication record and your data are removed. It cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
If you cannot get into the app to do it, email privacy@setlift.app from the address on the account and we will handle it.
I didn't get my verification code
Codes are six digits and arrive by email within a minute or two. If nothing shows up: check spam, confirm you typed the address correctly, and request a new code; the old one expires. Still nothing after ten minutes, email support@setlift.app and we will look at the delivery logs.
I forgot my password
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen. We email you a six-digit code, same as verification. If you originally signed up with Google, you do not have a SetLift password; use the Google button instead.
Can I change my email address?
Not from inside the app yet. Email support@setlift.app from the address currently on the account and we will change it for you.
How do I stop people finding me?
Anyone who knows your email address can find your account; that is how connection requests work.
Phone-number search is off by default. Adding a phone number to your profile does not make you findable by it; you have to switch phone search on in Settings first. Turn it back off there any time, or remove the number entirely.
Privacy & data
Do you track me or sell my data?
No. SetLift has no analytics, no crash reporting, no ad SDKs, and no trackers of any kind. We do not sell data and we do not share it for advertising. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Who can see my progress photos?
Progress photos are stored privately and are not visible to other users unless you deliberately share them, with a coach, in a group, or in a message.
Your profile photo is different: it is stored in a public bucket, meaning anyone with the direct URL can view it without a SetLift account. Choose one you are comfortable being public.
Can I change my mind about a progress photo?
Yes. Delete it in the app and it disappears from your history straight away. The file itself is kept for 30 days so you can undo the deletion if you change your mind, and is then destroyed permanently. If you had already shared it with a coach or in a group, tell us at privacy@setlift.app and we will remove those copies too.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Your workout history and body measurements download as CSV files from Settings → Import & Export. For a full copy of everything, email privacy@setlift.app from your account address and we will send you an export. We respond within 45 days and usually much sooner.
Who can see a workout I share as a link?
Anyone who has the link, without a SetLift account. It shows a copy of what you shared at that moment and your display name; a shared routine or program leaves out your weights and notes. Editing the original does not change it. To take a link down, email privacy@setlift.app.
What happens when I scan a food barcode?
Your phone reads the barcode itself; no picture is taken or kept. The number goes to our server, which looks it up in Open Food Facts or USDA FoodData Central. Those databases see only the barcode, never who you are. If you fix a product's numbers, the fix is saved to your account alone.
Where is my data stored?
In the United States: Supabase running on AWS in Ohio (us-east-2). Exercise videos are served from Cloudflare.
Using the app
What is SetLift Flow, and what is it built on?
SetLift Flow is the generator behind the workouts and multi-week programs in the app. It is a model following a fixed set of training rules, not a general chatbot asked to invent a workout. Those rules come from published strength-training guidelines, including the American College of Sports Medicine's 2026 position stand on resistance training, and peer-reviewed meta-analyses on training volume, load, and how close to failure a set should be taken. In practice that means:
- Volume counted across the whole week, per muscle: aiming for the roughly 10 or more hard sets per muscle per week the research consensus points to. When your time budget cannot cover everything, it concentrates on what your goal needs instead of spreading every muscle too thin to matter.
- Rep ranges matched to your goal: heavy and low reps for strength, moderate for size, higher for conditioning. Big compound lifts come first, while you are fresh; isolation work goes last.
- Progression built into the block: week one calibrates to what you actually lift, and intensity climbs from there as a percentage of your own established max, with a recovery week scheduled when the block is long enough to need one.
- Hard sets, not maximal ones: work that stops a rep or two short of failure. Going to failure on every set adds very little and costs real recovery, and no app can see your form breaking down.
What Flow does not do is assess you. It works from your goal, experience, equipment and schedule; it cannot see injuries, medical conditions, or how well you are recovering, and it is not medical advice. The same summary and disclaimer sit in the app on the generate screen, under How SetLift Flow builds your plan, and its limits.
The AI gave me a workout that seems wrong
It might be. AI-generated workouts are not reviewed by a trainer before you see them, and they can suggest loads or exercises that do not suit your experience or your injuries. Use your judgment, adjust freely, and tell us at support@setlift.app if something was badly off; it helps us improve the prompts.
Why does SetLift want my photo library, camera or microphone?
Photo library is for adding form videos and progress photos. Camera is for taking progress photos, recording form videos and scanning a food barcode. Microphone is for voice messages, the sound on form videos you record, and dictating notes; speech recognition turns a dictated note into text on your phone. Each is only requested when you first use that feature, and declining leaves the rest of the app working normally. You can change your mind any time in iOS Settings → SetLift.
How do rest timers and workout timers work?
The workout timer starts when you begin a session and runs until you finish. Rest timing starts when you log a set. Both keep running if you leave the app, so you will not lose your place answering a text.
How do I connect my Fitbit or Pixel Watch?
Through Apple Health. With Apple Health switched on in SetLift, we read your bodyweight, body fat percentage, step count, sleep duration, exercise minutes, water intake, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, height and waist measurement from it, filling in only what you have not already recorded yourself; a value you entered is never overwritten. Workouts recorded on the watch come across as well, as activities in your history. The Google Health app can share your Fitbit or Pixel Watch data into Apple Health at no cost. In Google Health, go to Connections → Apps and services → Apple Health, tap Get started, accept the sync consent, then turn on the categories you want to share. If you do not see that option, update Google Health from the App Store first. To check it worked, open the Health app, open Steps and scroll to Data Sources & Access: Google Health should be listed. The same steps live in the app under Settings → Apple Health.
Does SetLift work with Garmin, Oura, Whoop or Strava?
Yes, the same way. Turn on Apple Health inside the app that came with your device (look under its settings, connections or integrations screen), choose what to share, and that data reaches SetLift through Apple Health. Workouts those apps record, a run, a ride or a swim, come across too, and land in your history as activities you can attach to a group challenge score. There is nothing to connect on the SetLift side for that.
Strava also works the other way. Connect it in Settings → Integrations and SetLift posts each workout you finish to your Strava feed, with its exercises, sets and total volume. SetLift never reads anything from Strava. Turn off Post workouts to Strava, or disconnect, whenever you like; workouts already posted stay on Strava until you delete them there.
Coaching
Are SetLift coaches vetted?
We verify identity and certification documents: a coach submits a selfie and their certification, and we check that they match and are genuine. That is a documentation check, not an endorsement of their coaching. Coaches are independent professionals, not SetLift employees, and we do not supervise the programming they write. Use the same judgment you would hiring a trainer at a gym.
If coaching ends, do I lose my workouts?
No. Your workouts, history and PRs belong to your account, not to your coach. Ending a coaching relationship only changes who can see what: your coach stops being able to assign you anything or look at your progress, and nothing you have logged is touched. That is true whichever way it ends, whether you leave, your coach removes you, or you move to a different coach. The app says the same thing at the moment you connect, so you are not agreeing to anything you have to read the fine print for.
My coach and I have a payment dispute
Coaching agreements are between you and the coach; SetLift is not a party to them and does not process coaching payments. We can help with anything on the app side, and we will act on conduct that violates our community rules.
Can my client see the notes I write about them?
No. Coach notes are visible to the coach only. Write them professionally regardless: they are stored on our servers, are not end-to-end encrypted, and could be disclosed if we were legally compelled.
Safety & reporting
How do I report someone?
Report it from the content itself; you do not need to email us:
- On a group post, tap the ••• in the top corner of the post.
- On a comment, press and hold it.
- In a coaching conversation, tap the ••• at the top of the thread.
Pick a reason (harassment or bullying, hate speech, sexual or explicit content, spam or scam, impersonation, violence or threats, self-harm, or something else) and it reaches us with a copy of what you saw attached.
You can still email report@setlift.app instead if you would rather, or if what you need to report is not a post, comment or message.
How do I block someone?
Block sits in the same ••• or press-and-hold menu as Report, so you can do both in one go. Everyone you have blocked is listed under Settings → Safety → Blocked Users, and you can unblock from there at any time.
Blocking works both ways: neither of you will see the other's posts, comments or messages anywhere in SetLift, and neither of you will be able to find the other in search.
Two things worth knowing. Nothing is deleted: unblocking restores what each of you can see. And if one of you coaches the other, the coaching relationship stays but your conversation disappears; if you want the coaching arrangement to end too, end it separately.
Something urgent or dangerous
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then email report@setlift.app with "URGENT" in the subject line; for anything that cannot wait, email reaches us more directly than an in-app report.
Billing
Does SetLift cost anything?
Not right now. SetLift Pro is priced at $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, but SetLift is not on the App Store yet, so nothing can be bought and no card can be charged. In the TestFlight beta you can try the Pro purchase: it goes through Apple's test store and you are not charged.
Still stuck?
Email support@setlift.app. Tell us what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead, and your device and iOS version if it is a bug. We read everything.
